A Livanos' family creation, Molyvos is the closest you can get to Greece in New York City. Critics agree that Molyvos serves perhaps the finest example of Greek cuisine in New York, and beyond. People from around the world have discovered that Molyvos serves the true foods and wines of Greece, along with a large dose of the country’s warm and lively spirit. Molyvos’ menu is built upon the home-style cooking of Greece using authentic recipes, classical cooking techniques and superior ingredients. The wine list, under the keen direction of Kamal Kouiri, is unique for its depth and breadth of excellent Greek labels and small producers from the Mediterranean whose wine deserves to be enjoyed. Molyvos also boasts a carefully selected Pre and Post-theatre menu that perfectly accompanies an evening of entertainment.

"Reliably good, fresh Greek food in an attractive setting near Carnegie Hall. Open for Sunday lunch/brunch--a rarity in this area."

Opened in 1983 by Theatre District restaurateur Joe Allen, Orso serves regional Italian cuisine in an intimate, trattoria-inspired setting. Out-of-towners, locals and Broadway regulars can all be spotted enjoying Orso's outstanding preparations of classics like rigatoni Bolognese and sautéed calf's liver with grilled onions and sage. In addition to these standbys, Orso also offers smaller plates, antipasti, thin crust pizzas and half orders of pasta, which are perfectly suited for lunch and late evening dining.

"We have been going to Orso since it opened and have always had a good meal. The food is fresh, varied, and well-cooked. Even when the restaurant is full, as before the theatre, the noise level is acceptable, and the staff remains gracious and attentive. This is our go-to place for lunch in the theatre district."

Osteria Morini - New York is a authentic rustic Italian restaurant by acclaimed and award winning Chef Michael White and the Altamarea Group. In Italian, “osteria” means a place where the owner “hosts” guests, and at Osteria Morini - New York Chef White continues this tradition of hospitality, transforming his first downtown restaurant into an authentic, old-world osteria with soulful food from the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy.

"We enjoyed everything we ordered from the lunch/brunch menu and appreciated the friendly, attentive service. As the restaurant filled up, the noise level rose slightly, but not to an objectionable level. If we lived in the neighborhood, we'd go there weekly."
