“Mourayo” is Greek for safe harbor where fishermen moor their boats. Mourayo offers healthy, fresh, innovatively refined Greek cuisine. Our regional variations on meats, fish, poultry and legumes have been inspired by the traditional Greek and Mediterranean food culture. We aspire to present an original cuisine concept of this coastal land of blue skies and sparkling blue waters with its thousands of islands! Let us sail you to the Aegean Sea and experience Greek cuisine like never before. We validate Parking after 5:30pm at 2001 S Street (Laz Parking) Monday-Friday

"Visited with friends who are frequent diners at Mourayo, which offers good authentic and imaginative Greek cuisine with good service. Expensive overpriced wine list, however, but fine dining with some very good Greek specials. Started with taramasalata and pitta bread. Then, I had the some beautiful home-cooked lamb with vegetables and feta cheese. A splendid evening with very good service. Not cheap, however."

Located in the heart of the Dupont Circle area for more than 24 years, Odéon Café is located conveniently only two+ blocks from the Metro, offering an exciting culinary experience within an inviting atmosphere. Our newly renovated two-story dining room provides a beautiful and spacious bar where you can relax during happy hour or while awaiting a table. Our comfortable seating includes intimate tables for two and space for families or even parties of ten or more. We have a good selection of Italian, American and French wines and champagnes, available by the glass or bottle. Thus you are sure to find an appropriate spirit to enhance any of our entrees. Our colorful continental décor, along with the savory aromas of Italian cooking, help create the ambience that makes the Odéon Café a wonderful place to visit. Odéon Café will be serving a traditional 3-course Thanksgiving Day feast on 11/22/07 for $18.95, as well as its regular menu.

"Local Italian restaurant with pretty good linguine con frutti di mare and veal in masala wine. Attentive service. Wine somewhat overpriced. Will return, however."

Zaika offers an appetizing array of India’s regional cuisine, including signature dishes from Bombay and Goa, as well as vegetarian specialties from the south. A delicious complement to the main dishes, the traditional Naan bread, baked in the tandoor oven, is given extra flavor with garlic and fresh butter, spices, dried fruits and more.

"Pleasantly surprised by the quality and presentation of the food, and the pretty efficient service. Cannot say much for the decor but it was Ok. Everything worked out very well. The poppadums were not over spicy, which is typically the case in Indian restaurants in the US. The naan did not quite look like naan bread but with garlic and butter it was acceptable. One of the best lamb saags I have tasted. The lamb patiala and chicken with hakka noodles were also very good, all washed down with a nice bottle of good, but reasonably priced, Malbec."

Directly across from the Verizon Center, Rosa Mexicano has been serving classic Mexican cuisine for over 20 years. Try the famous guacamole, prepared tableside, & sip a frozen pomegranate margarita while enjoying the festive, stylish and comfortable ambiance.

The Grill From Ipanema is the only authentic Brazilian restaurant in town. This restaurant takes pride in its hospitality and is committed to offering the best culinary experience so that one can truly taste traditional Brazilian cookery with different flavors and from different regions in Brazil. The inspiration of the menu is a reflection of the people, different cultures, and flavors within Brazil. Try our "Moqueca Mista a Baiana" style, it is a mixed seafood stew of fish, shrimp, mussels, squid, clams and scallops is prepared in a blend of palm oil and coconut milk with fresh cilantro, tomato, onion, scallions and green pepper (Please indicate how spicy) served in a clay pot with rice and fish broth, and a yucca purée on the side. Grill from Ipanema is a delightful surprise to anyone interested in a unique adventure from way down south.

"This was our second visit to the Grill. Our experience was good. The Picanha Grelhada and sepcial chicken dish was good but the Feijoada included huge lumps of fat attached to the pork in an otherwise tasty dish. Fairly good range of wines. Probably will revisit but avoid the Feijoada. The serving staff and owners are great-warm and friendly with pretty good cocktails too."

Founded by Ayesha Abraham, Mama Ayesha's opened for business in 1960. We are a family owned and operated restaurant serving authentic Arabic cuisine. Enjoy a fresh fattoush salad, some hummus, or some falafel to open you appetite. Main dishes include lamb, chicken, and beef dishes cooked over our charcoal grill. Or try one of our stuffed specialties such as our stuffed yellow squash or grape leaves. Plenty of vegetarian as well as vegan options also available. With dishes prepared daily from scratch you can be sure you're getting the closest thing to home cooking. We are glad to be moving forward into our 5th decade of serving the Washington, DC area. Many of our guests can tell you that when you’re here at Mama Ayesha’s, you’re family!
