Created in partnership with Scott and Gina Gottlich, The Second Floor Bistro - Bar features contemporary comfort cuisine and an intimate dining experience. The restaurant’s 2,500-square-foot dining area is completely enclosed in glass and features a terrazzo floor, ethanol-burning fireplace and warm color scheme to create an inviting, relaxing ambiance.

The restaurant’s a la carte menu features a creative spin on contemporary cuisine, original cocktails and one of the largest whiskey collections in Dallas – perfect for an after-work escape, shopping-trip interlude or weekend-getaway indulgence.

"This restaurant continues to innovate, first by updating the staid buffet and now by introducing the newest version of Family Style dining. As in any reinvention, there will be occasional missteps, but overall it was a good dining experience. And no one could go away hungry. Food overall was tasty and well-chosen, as new Chef Andrea continues to become confident in what her kitchen can do. By the very nature of Family Style dining, service van appear hurried, but the service team performed well, and I thoroughly appreciated the polished demeanor of each server. LOTS of dishes had to go from kitchen to table and then back again, so congrats front and back of house staff for working well together. A fun experience for my family. Look forward to returning soon."

"Love this place. Good food and service. I chose the Salmon BLT, and it wasn't my favorite. But in all my times of dining here, this was the first time I wasn't entirely happy with the food. The ingredients to the sandwich were all first rate, but they just didn't "come together" for me. Service was great as was the cozy ambiance. Look forward to my return."

"The 2nd Floor's Thanksgiving Buffet is, without a doubt, the best in Dallas. Food is delish, variety is unmatched, and service is top drawer. I continue to be amazed that some diners object to the 18% gratuity added to the price of the buffet, which is VERY clearly stated on all the hotel's advertisements. The service here is intense, with clean plates, smiling faces, and hard-working servers at every turn to make this a special experience. If a diner objects to the 18%, go elsewhere. For the smart diners, however, it will be recognized as a bargain. SO MUCH attention to each guest, which truly enhances the dining experience,
And SO MUCH quality food. Congratulations to Chef Andres and her team for an amazing array of the expected and the unexpected. Sushi anyone? Some of the best I've tasted. Forget a glass of champagne; how about a CARAFE of Mimosas. I wish I could list the name of every team member who made this a truly special event.
While the food in this slightly obscure restaurant in the Westin Galleria Hotel (it's up the escalator on- what else?- the Second Floor) is always outstanding, But the buffets- on special holidays only- give the entire staff- kitchen, servers, and all the support team- a chance to really show what they can do. It's a meal you will not want to miss. Free valet parking sweetens the deal.
But do book early, especially if you have an unusual number of guests- five or seven rather than six or eight. Now that the word has gotten out, seating can be at a premium. But I have no higher recommendation than this: when the front and back of house work collaboratively to produce the best experience possible, the customer reaps the windfall. Great food, great service. GO!!!!"
