Local Kitchen & Wine Merchant is in Rincon Hill serving pizzas from the wood-burning oven, savory selections from the rotisserie and fresh house-made pastas. Our style is Urban Rustic comfort food. We use organic and local ingredients while offering a global yet approachable wine selection. Our dining room serves Lunch: Monday-Friday, Dinner: Monday-Sunday. Brunch Saturday/Sunday 10:00-2:30 Sunday night is 1/2 price pizza night.<br />Happy Hour: 4pm to 6:30pm Monday through Friday!

"The good - easy street parking, open fairly early. The bad - chipped cup, beverages arrived at different times, cream came after coffee was cold, had to request spoon. Refills not forthcoming. Pancakes needed salt in batter, orange flavor missing. Overall mediocre."

When we opened the doors of our tiny restaurant in December 2006, our goal was to make Piccino as welcoming as the home of a close friend, our food as simple and beautifully executed as possible. We"re honored that Piccino became a thriving hub of the community. And in May of 2011 we moved from our original space into a new home (dubbed The Yellow Building) on the corner of 22nd & Minnesota Streets, which we share with our friends MAC (Modern Appealing Clothing), and DIG wine shop.<br /> <br />Our menu still features the classic and seasonally driven thin-crust pizzas and polpette (Tuscan-style pork and beef meatballs) Piccino is known for; our salads and soups use the finest organic produce sourced directly from small local farms. Piccino's menu has expanded to include more small starter plates, house-made pastas, contorni (vegetable sides), and special entrees of meat, fish, or poultry. Seasonal desserts and expertly made coffee complete our daily offerings.

"They were having a bad morning. Brunch is usually excellent. The pastry basket was delicious. Mains overcooked, under seasoned. The server didn't return until we were finished, no refills on coffee or tea. Expensive for food that shouldn't have been served."

Terzo (which means third in Italian) offers a daily changing menu of about 15 small plates and 5 large plates. Its “pan-Mediterranean” fare is under the care of Executive Chef Mark Gordon. The wine list offers over 80 options of European and Californian wines chosen to pair with the food.<br /><br />A high table sits between the bar and dining room and offers communal style seating for up to 10 diners. Additional walk-in seating is available on 3 high tops in the front window. Espresso leather banquets line the dining room. A more intimate back dining room can be booked for private parties of up to 18.<br /><br />Inspired by the wine bars and cafes of Sicily, Rome, Seville & Madrid, wines are stored along the walls of the dining room. An original fireplace was refurbished and is lit when the weather is chilly out. Stylish lighting creates a chic atmosphere.
