Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink is a showcase for the cuisine of Chef/Owner Michael Schwartz, with prices designed to encourage frequent dining. This unpretentious bistro seats 90 indoors and out, with another 14 seats at a handsome bar. Doubling as a casual neighborhood dining spot and a culinary destination, the bright, airy space in Miami’s evolving Design District showcases Schwartz’s trademark new American cuisine at prices designed to encourage frequent dining. Open daily for lunch and dinner, the menu is chock full of choices encouraging everything from a light bite to a multi-course feast. A quick glance at the menu and Michael's intentions for this restaurant are revealed. Notable is the frequency of the word homemade in the descriptions of dishes -- be it pasta, French fries or rabbit terrine. At the same time, Michael's takes advantage of the Chef’s decades-long relationships with winemakers to offer diners the opportunity to try a variety of wines at great value.

Seasalt and Pepper Brasserie and Lounge, a waterfront seafood bistro with 225 feet of docking facility, two dining rooms, an event space, and an outdoor lounge located on the bank of the Miami River, is introducing the area to some serious culinary swagger personified by a new sleek restaurant that focuses on restyled gastro classics and modern cocktailing. Think surf and turf.

Still need to work out some kinks

"The atmosphere is outstanding with a rarely seen view of downtown Miami. The actual location is deep in a commercial area which is difficult to find. The feel is airy with some parts of the restaurant completely outdoors and other parts indoors. This concept is great in the winter but may not work well in the heat of the spring and summer months.
The food is excellent but we found the portions a bit small and plain considering the SoBe top notch prices. The kitchen and service still need to work out some kinks but they are aware of this and are very apologetic and accommodating. One of our dishes came out frozen in the middle TWICE and finally overcooked on the third. However the manager did remove it from our bill."
