In the midst of Little Italy, Chez Joel creates the tastes and aromas of France. Featuring traditional favorites, Chef joel Kazouini offers his straightforward, expertly prepared Southern French cuisine. Chez Joel’s atmosphere is reminiscent of a true French bistro; its walls adorned with French posters and tables covered with butcher paper. The cozy environment makes Chez Joel the perfect spot for any romantic meal, and when weather permits, garden tables offer an open-air experience where you’ll find one of the most divine al fresco dining settings in the city.

"Chez Joel is a real gem. The restaurant reminds you of a real French Bistro. The food was outstanding. From the imaginative salads to the Cornish hen and lemon sole - every bite was tasty. The wine list is well thought out and we selected a very nice one which we enjoyed the entire night. Service was excellent and we were not rushed. We will return."

Soaring above Chicago's skyline on the 40th floor of One Financial Place and under the culinary direction of Chef/Owner Jean Joho, Everest serves some of Chicago's finest personalized cuisine. "Though the restaurant has a spectacular unobstructed cityscape as a backdrop, the food is what commands attention," said Chicago Magazine, which has voted Everest four stars for the tenth year in a row, since Everest opened.

"We had not been to Everest in a while. The whole experience is top notch. From ther entry to the building and restaurant until the last chocolate, service is top drawer. Our waiter welcomed us and asked about a drink to start which appeared quickly. we were nto rushed, but took our time considering the choices. The food arrived in measured order, not too quickly to suggest moving us out or too long indicating kitchen problems. We enjoyed every course. The amuse started the adventure with 4 mouth watering treats. The smoked salmon was ideal and the beet dressed salad refreshing. The Dover Sole was outstanding, fresh and flavorful. Dessert was gelato and sorbet followed by an array of sweets. The wine we selected was perfect for the meal."

"What a nice experience! The food was great. The salad was fresh, favorable and lightly dressed - perfect. The trout was tremendous - fresh, nicely seasoned and sauced. dessert was just right- enough to end a perfect night, but not too much. Wine list has something for everyone. I had a very nice sauvignon blanc and my husband a reisling tot start. we then split a bottle of pinot noir from county line that we had red about in one of the wine blogs we follow. it was very nice. we will definitely come back. A good experience with service as well, not hovering, but attentive."

With rustic exposed brick walls, re-purposed farm wood and communal tables, Davanti Enoteca takes its cues from the small villages of Italy. Diners enjoy authentic Italian dishes they would find in the Italian countryside, but with a contemporary, creative twist. The start diners may choose from the selection of formaggi and salumi which is designed for guests to create their own boards by choosing from unique options. Instant classics include the boards that are presented to the table. The Foccacia de Recco is a flaky Ligurian style foccacia, baked and stuffed with creamy melted crescenza cheese and served with honeycomb to spread on the warm pastry. Buttery marscapone polenta is ladled on a wooden board and served with ragu of the day.

"We loved the food, imaginative and tasty. We had a great salad, escarole and veggies, a tasty pizza with great crust and an outstanding skate dish with brussel sprouts. I would order this again. The wine was also good and priced fairly."

The first restaurant in Western Springs to serve liquor since prohibition, Vie offers guests the opportunity to experience urban fine dining in a warm, relaxed village setting. Conveniently located steps from the Metra station, Vie attracts food-conscious diners from the entire Chicagoland area. Guests will find sanctuary in the intimate, gracious dining room housed in a two-story red brick building in the center of Norman Rockwell’s Americana. Chef Virant’s cuisine reflects the seasons, local harvests and the world becoming a smaller place. While the menu celebrates artisanal foods and local family farms, it also takes advantage of the increased availability of specialty foods from across the globe. Vie features Seasonal Contemporary American cuisine inspired by Western European cultures and rustic fare. Virant elevates familiar dishes by relying on the simplicity of a few, high-quality ingredients.

"Vie is an amazing experience. From the understated elegance of the dining rooms to the impeccable service, it was a magic evening. The food is well prepared and plated which adds to the wonderful tastes and textures. every bite was an adventure. The wine suggestion absolutely complemented the food. A solid wine list that has something at every price and taste level. Service was caring, but not smothering and the timing of the courses was perfect. We would highly recommend Vie to anyone looking for a truly great dining experience."
