Located in the Shaw area of D.C., Marvin combines Belgian cuisine and American comfort food with soul-inspired dishes like shrimp and grits, and is named in homage to Marvin Gaye; a huge mural of Marvin is painted on a main dining room wall. The restaurant decor gives some of the feel of a traditional local place, with a cool vibe as you enter the upstairs lounge.

"Considering the club vibe upstairs, I didn't have high expectations for the restaurant. But I was very happily surpluses by the Liver & Onions dish. My companions enjoyed their Chicken & Waffles and Shrimp & Grits.
The one off note was the overwhelming flavor of cardamom in the Brussels sprouts. I couldn't finish then.
Otherwise, this was a great way to start our night out. And the French bartender on the ground floor was adorable and friendly, as well as quite knowledgable."

Fujimar is an Asian-Latin fusion, nouveau cuisine restaurant serving ceviche, sushi and more.

Meat, seafood and produce are carefully selected to the highest standards highlighting their own true flavors and origin. In particular, Fujimar’s ceviche and sushi bar will feature unusual delicacies like Tasmanian King Salmon and Hapu’up’u.

Bar chefs Ari and Micah Wilder designed Fujimar’s beverage program utilizing locally sourced and seasonal ingredients in drinks created using classic techniques. The wine list features imports produced by artisan winemakers, ranging from the mineral-laden Austrian Gruner Veltliner and German Rieslings to Cru Beaujolais and Priorat.

"We had a fantastic deal on food & drink and feasted for over two hours. Every sushi option we tried was delicious (especially the volcano and slap slap rolls) and the wine complemented it perfectly. The empanadas were not very well received; perhaps Fujimar should lean more toward Asian than Latin. Otherwise, the chic decor and plush seats made for a wonderful evening overall."

Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar features Nuevo Cubano cuisine by two-time James Beard award-winning Chef Guillermo Pernot. Pernot's menus feature tantalizing tastes that are derived from the exotic island"s culinary traditions, which include Spanish, African, Creole and Asian influences. The restaurant's atmosphere transports guests to Old Havana circa the 1950s. One-of-a-kind millwork and architectural salvage including unique doors, gates, cabinetry, furniture and accessories help capture the essence of old Cuban architecture. Colorful exotic foliage and large potted palm trees add to Cuba Libre's open-air, tropical ambiance. Featuring a selection of over 70 rums, Cuba Libre's uniquely refreshing house specialty, the mojito, is made from the authentic Cuban recipe of combining rum, fresh lime juice, fresh mint leaves, a splash of soda and most distinctively, guarapo, sugar cane juice pressed daily on site.

Zengo, which translates to "give 'n take", merges flavors of Chef Richard Sandoval's heritage with his passion for Asian cuisine. This melding of flavors and cultures results in intriguing shareable dishes.

"My dining companions and I enjoyed our meal, but found the menu choices limited. The entrées were very well done, but the appetizers and small plates, although tempting, did not seem to be worth the price so we kept our order simple. Excellent scallops and short rib dishes, the bartender recommended a truly delicious wine, and the ambiance upstairs was cozy, elegant, and chic all at the same time (avoid the lower level whenever possible). I would definitely return for a date or another dinner with friends for the vibe."

"Tavern 64 is the newly refurbished restaurant attached to the Hyatt Regency Reston. It was a good place to catch up with a friend over brunch as I was staying at the hotel and most of the other options were chain restaurants I could find anywhere. She enjoyed her frittatta, I enjoyed the pulled pork. The complementary cornbread that started the meal was delicious, but the cranberry butter didn't have any easily distinguishable flavors...not even of butter. There's so much glass you have a lovely view and backdrop from almost any table and the overall ambience is warm and easygoing."

"The lunch buffet is a great deal and the food is well prepared. Service was a little odd--we realized we had been brought the wrong platter about halfway through it and the server/owner took back the half-eaten platter and brought the correct one. I also couldn't use my coupon on the buffet, we had to order off the menu. The servings were quite small considering the price."

STK artfully blends two concepts into one—the modern steakhouse and a chic lounge. A large central lounge area is furnished with creamy leather banquettes and textured crocodile tiles, and is surrounded by an elevated dining room for more formal dining. Theatrical lights illuminate each table, while a DJ creates an energetic vibe throughout the entire space. STK Washington D.C. is located in Dupont Circle and is in close proximity to D.C. attractions as well as being in the heart of the best night life in the Nation's Capital. As anticipated, steak is the main attraction. STK offers small, medium and large cuts of meat, as well as naturally raised options and market fresh fish entrees. Aside from steak, signature items include Parmesan Truffle Fries; Lil’ BRGs; Shrimp Rice Krispies; Sweet Corn Pudding; and Jump Lump Crab Salad.

"Yes, the prices will give your heart a flutter, but the overall experience makes it just the slightest bit more palatable. The 80s party brunch thrown to launch STK's brunch service was a great combination of ambiance, great food, and free-flowing libations. The brunch burger was huge and topped with a delicious tomato jam; STK's take on corned beef hash is also perfectly suited to the elegance of the establishment; and the mac and cheese received thumbs up all around the table. I'm looking forward to the fulfillment of the intention to host themed brunches on a monthly basis."
