The stunning reincarnation of New York's original 1959 Brasserie showcases the award-winning, ultramodern design of Diller + Scofidio. Executive Chef Luc Dimnet's menu demonstrates a bold use of flavor giving an unexpected taste to classic French brasserie fare. Savor traditional dishes including Onion Soup Gratinèe and Maine Bouchot Mussels Marinière or modern plates like Gougonettes of Cod and Long Island Duck Breast Confit.

Visit our other great restaurants by clicking on the link below.

The Patina Restaurant Group

"Although I written before that they poured a very short drink...I was able to convince myself to continue the dining experience...simply do not drink!
However, Thanksgiving Dinner convince me to say goodbye altogether...even though I would visit a couple of times a month...the manager in fact knows me... it is unimaginable that a waiter has take no prisoners attitude and delivers a Turkey Dinner with one single slice of turkey that weighed no more than an ounce...with accompanied by a few pulled dark meat pieces of meat....I should have returned it gotten up and left...but that is not my persona...and I am certain the manager is aware of the food delivery....he's very hands on.
This is the reason the place is never more than 50% full...where as Hillstone a couple of blocks away turns tables 2-3 times for both lunch and dinner...I guess you can't fool all of the people all of the time..."

Zagat 2010 writes, "The 'tasty' Northern Italiana is 'lovingly prepared' at this longtime UES 'neighborhood haunt' best known for its 'welcoming' aim to please 'owners.' The intimate setting and pricing that won't max out your credit card add to the overall eat good - feel good experience.

One of America's most successful restaurants, this New York steakhouse opened in 1977 and has been a hit ever since. It is one of the most trafficked restaurants in New York City and among the most celebrated steakhouses in the world. Specializing in fresh seafood and lobster and assorted steaks and chops, Smith & Wollensky is well recognized for its healthy portions, seasoned service staff and pop Americana ambience. The painted wood exterior is dark forest green trim on sparkling white, with latticework trim. The elegant interior has turn-of-the-century appeal and design elements including shining brass, dark wood accents and polished wood floors. Adjacent to Smith & Wollensky's is Wollensky's Grill. The Grill (entrance on 49th St) is open from 11:30AM till 2:00AM but does not accept reservations.

"The bartender must have arthritis...and can hold a bottle long enough to pour a decent size drink...one would expect a modest pour at $16.00...but he must be saving up for some cortisone shots..."
