BroRon's Reviews

Sitting on a quiet residential street in Georgetown, 1789 Restaurant has the charm of a historic country inn. Chef Anthony Lombardo’s contemporary seasonal menu blends the flavors of fresh regional ingredients into unique and delicious summer dishes. A modern twist on classic desserts by Pastry Chef Ryan Westover.

2013 Wine Spectator Award of Excellence; Zagat Top Ratings in Food, Service, Decor, and Most Popular; DiRona Award Winner; 3 Stars from 2012 Washingtonian magazine.
"My partner &d I have celebrated birthdays & anniversaries here for years, & raved about the food, the service, & the ambiance. It is rare that all three would fail in the same dining experience! The 7 p.m. Sat. evening birthday/anniversary dinner was at 1789 to introduce friends to our favorite special event restaurant. Our table was upstairs in a very "intimate setting." "Intimate" because every time the server was attending to the table behind us, I got elbowed or had a hip in my ear. It took several minutes for our server to greet us, tho several staff were milling about, seemingly with purpose. Salad & parsnip puree app's were ok. Presentation of ravioli & scallop entrees outweighed mediocre taste. The gnochetti was exceptional. Done!"
