The charming Mount Vernon Inn restaurant serves lunch daily and elegant candlelit dinners daily. The Inn offers six intimate dining rooms, two with fireplaces, all with colonial and delicious regional and colonial cuisine.
"Located besides the entry to the Mt. Vernon estate of George Washington, a stop here for lunch keeps your 18th century experience going in a country inn with wooden floors, fussy wallpaper, and servers in period costumes. I enjoyed the turkey "pye" (turkey pot pie) which was a smallish bowl of firm vegetables and tasty turkey morsels - comfort food. Hubby enjoyed grilled shrimp in Caesar salad. good solid fare, not trendy. you don't come here for trendy. locals as well as tourists favor this place and its friendly, attentive service."
