Thel's Reviews

Candela blends authentic Spanish, Italian and Cuban cuisines with inspiring results... Chef Armando Vega meticulously minds each dish, occasionally emerging from the kitchen to chat with his clientele... The pace of the service here is attentive but leisurely, geared toward a lengthy sit for wine and conversation.

"We have dined at Candela many times over the last three years since moving to Fort Lauderdale. Armando never disappoints! The flavors are superb; the presentations creative and delightful; the service friendly and warm. I was a little saddened to see the lamb chops missing from the new menu, but there are plenty of other options to fill the void. I cannot recommend the grilled octopus appetizer highly enough. I will go to Candela for that alone - Armando can be talked into serving it in entre portion! This might not be the place you would expect to find this, but Candela also serves the best lasagna I have ever eaten. There are many fine restaurants in south Florida, but we are pulled back to Candela often. You will be as well! Thel"
